Salsa/Canning Workshop - 3rd Session
Saturday, September 4th, 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Our first and second Canning and Salsa Making Workshop was a huge success. We had enough requests that we're offering it again, but this session is likely to sell out as well, so don't delay!
Think tomatoes, peppers, onions, hot glass jars and metal lids. Sound's yummy, doesn't it? Debbie Dean-Espie and Alice Baldwin will share with you their personal canning experience including proper jar sterilization, following a recipe, and the water bath process for your salsa.
Participant fee includes: all food and equipment , ''The USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning 2009 Edition'', and six, 1/2 pt jars of freshly canned salsa to take home.
Note that this workshop may not run the full 3 hours, but we need to allow enough time for all to fully participate.
Registration deadline is Thursday, August 5 so supplies can be ordered and harvesting of the veggies can happen ahead of time. No refunds or cancellations after Aug 5th, although you can send someone else to participate in your place.
Participants must sign acknowledgment of the potential for food borne illness associated with home canning and agree to hold harmless Dean's Greenhouse, Inc. for any injury or illness resulting the process of making or consuming home canned food. |
